Kelsey Gonwick

Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), Executive Function Testing Technician

Kelsey Gonwick, a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) and Executive Function Testing Technician, is an invaluable asset to the Winston Center team and our clients.

In her role as an SLPA, Kelsey is responsible for administering personalized treatment plans under the direct guidance of a clinically certified speech-language pathologist. She also conducts reading screenings to identify signs of dyslexia and, when needed, refers clients to Winston Center’s speech-language pathologist for an evaluation. Kelsey’s knowledgeable and supportive approach to treatment helps our clients feel confident, comfortable and hopeful.

Additionally, as an Executive Function Testing Technician, Kelsey administers executive function tests for our ADHD clients under the direction and supervision of our child psychiatry team.

Before joining our staff, Kelsey worked as an applied behavior analysis technician with autism clinic SOAR Behavior Services in Spokane, Wash. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Washington State University. Moreover, Kelsey holds an SLPA license as well as an online dyslexia training certificate from the Dyslexia Training Institute.

Kelsey is a dedicated volunteer, both in Washington and around the world. She is a former volunteer at Audubon Elementary in Spokane, where she helped with classroom support for English Second Language learners. She also volunteered for a player adaptive soccer skills organization (also in Spokane), working with kids aged five to 18 with varying disabilities and promoting social skills. Additionally, Kelsey volunteered at Hospice of Spokane as a summer grief camp counselor for kids. Internationally, Kelsey taught at the Phum Ou school and vocational center in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and volunteered with a Russian orphanage through a Washington-based nonprofit organization.

Outside of work and volunteering, Kelsey enjoys hiking, running, skiing, reading and traveling.
