Courtney Ramsey

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

As a Winston Center Mental Health Counselor, Courtney Ramsey is passionate about helping children and families navigate a variety of challenges and discover hope. Her mental health therapeutic services include individual, family and/or group counseling.

Courtney’s practice centers on helping children and adolescents manage the emotional aspects of conditions such as ADHD, autism, obsessive-compulsive behavior, oppositional defiance, phobias, executive functioning issues and more. Additionally, she offers guidance to cope with issues ranging from social anxiety to trauma and grief.

Courtney is trained in numerous types of therapy, which she employs depending on patient needs and goals. Treatment options include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, biofeedback, dialectical behavior therapy, coaching, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, play therapy, strength-based therapy and trauma-focused therapy.

Creativity and quality are central to Courtney’s practice. She introduces a variety of interventions to guide clients and make progress during each session. Courtney provides clients with tools to practice skills between sessions, as well as resources to assist with understanding concepts.

In addition to her role at Winston Center, Courtney is a Family Mental Health Counselor for the Spokane Public Schools System. Before joining our team, she served as a clinician at Frontier Behavioral Health and an intern at the Children’s Home Society of Washington. She is also a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors. Courtney is a licensed mental health counselor, child mental health specialist, national certified counselor and mental health professional.

Courtney earned a master’s degree in Community Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Communication, Broadcast News from Washington State University.

An animal lover, Courtney enjoys spending time with her dog, Gary, and volunteering at the Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary. She’s also frequently found reading, listening to podcasts, playing sports and spending time outdoors.
